Priority Areas
Serve as a regional voice for effective affordable housing policies that will support a broad network of partners who aim to promote and increase the development of affordable and workforce housing in the Valley
Grow More Developer Capacity in the Valley
Create a training program, in partnership with existing training providers, to develop and deliver a specific training for existing affordable housing developers (to increase their capacity) and would-be affordable housing developers (to help them gain entry to the market) in the Valley.
Getting the Valley's Fair Share
Build an advocacy and outreach campaign to reshape the way that state lawmakers think about and fund affordable housing in the Valley. The campaign should aim to ‘grow the pie’ of affordable housing funding statewide, as well as to increase the proportion of funding flowing to the Valley.
Support Local Governments Building Their Capacity:
Promote local governments’ increasing their planning resources through training, helping them identify funding for planning and securing the support of the COGs in getting that funding (e.g. REAP 2.0), streamlining processes (such as plan check reviews) Read More
Shift the Narrative On Housing Affordability and Homelessness
Create a storytelling series to tell the stories of different people in the Valley that are experiencing homelessness or housing stress, including youth.
Integrate Homeless Services with Affordable Housing
Convene housing developers, case managers at continuum of care, and service providers to develop relationships and opportunities for better collaboration.
